IF You Foundation Tennis Academy Expands Opportunities with USTA Florida Foundation Grant
The IF You Foundation Tennis Academy has become a powerful source of opportunity and transformation for young athletes in Orlando. Founded with a mission to provide access, discipline, and hope through sport, the Academy delivers professional tennis training, academic support, and character development at no cost to participating families. Through the support of a USTA Florida Foundation Program Support Grant, the Academy continues to expand its impact both on and off the court.

The Academy offers a unique approach to youth development. In addition to regular training sessions, participants take part in mental health workshops designed to support emotional well-being and confidence. The program also exposes students to unique experiences such as attending the Miami Open, allowing them to see the professional tennis world up close and imagine what is possible for their own futures. In just a few years, the Academy has positively impacted dozens of children, helping them grow as athletes, students, and individuals. Some participants have earned scholarships, others have competed in ranked tournaments, and all have gained structure, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.
With more than 150 children currently on a waiting list, the need for additional sponsors and funding continues to grow. The USTA Florida Foundation is proud to award this program with a grant to help support these newcomers and allow the academy to expand its reach. The true impact of the program is best seen through the stories of its participants.

Eduardo joined the IF You Foundation Tennis Academy at a very difficult moment in his life after experiencing bullying that led him to quit soccer entirely. When he first arrived, he was withdrawn and unmotivated. Through targeted emotional support, encouragement from coaches, and consistent structure, Eduardo slowly rebuilt his confidence. Today, he is a proud member of the Academy’s competition team, showing remarkable growth not only in tennis skills but in resilience and self belief.
Gabriel’s journey reflects a similar transformation. Struggling with focus and discipline following major changes at home, Gabriel found structure and motivation through tennis. Over time, he became more engaged, practiced independently, and developed a deep love for the sport. Recently, he won the Beginner division of an internal tournament, a milestone that symbolized his growth both on and off the court.
