Want to make a lasting impact on the future of tennis in Florida? The USTA Florida Section Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2027-2028 Board of Directors from June 3 until July 14. This is opening the door for passionate leaders to help guide the charitable arm of USTA Florida. 

As the official charitable arm of USTA Florida, the Foundation oversees the disbursement of funds to qualified entities across the state. Those dollars power youth tennis programs, adaptive tennis programs for individuals with special needs, community tennis in economically challenged areas, and facility assistance for the renovation, refurbishment, and building of quality public tennis courts. Board members bring their professional expertise and love of the game to the table, and new voices are needed to carry that mission forward. 

The following volunteer positions are accepting applications, each with its own Volunteer Position Description (VPD) to review: 

• Foundation Director-at-Large
• Foundation President 
• Foundation President-Elect 
• Foundation Treasurer 
• Foundation Secretary 
• Foundation Liaison 

How to Apply 

The application process includes six steps: 

1. Review the Volunteer Position Description – Explore the position descriptions above to find the role that best fits your skills and interests. 
2. Apply – The Board Application Phase runs June 3, 2026, to July 24, 2026. Review the VPD and complete the online application form. 
3. Review & Appointment Phase – The Nominating Committee reviews applications and conducts virtual interviews from September 9, 2026, to October 9, 2026. 
4. Slate Announced – The 2027-2028 Term USTA Florida Section Foundation Board of Directors slate will be published on November 3, 2026. 
5. Board Installation & Orientation – Installation and orientation will take place at the USTA Florida Tennis Summit, November 12 to 15, 2026. 
6. Term Begins – Selected candidates who complete orientation begin their term on January 1, 2027.
